Bioinformatician

About Taliaz

Taliaz is a fast-growing digital mental health company combining clinical excellence and advanced AI to improve psychiatric care at scale. We work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and healthcare organizations to reduce wait times, improve access, and support better clinical decisions using data-driven tools.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a talented Bioinformatician to join our algorithms and data team and help advance Taliaz’s predictive models and clinical analytics. This role focuses primarily on clinical and behavioral health data, algorithm development and evaluation, and building robust analytical foundations that support real-world mental healthcare delivery.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working hands-on with complex datasets, validating models, and collaborating with clinical and product teams to translate research-grade work into operational impact.

What You’ll Do

• Analyze large clinical datasets (e.g., patient-reported outcomes, intake and follow-up questionnaires, treatment pathways, operational outcomes)
• Participate in developing and improving Taliaz’s prediction algorithms (risk stratification, treatment response insights, triage support, outcome prediction).
• Evaluate algorithm performance using rigorous validation methods, including subgroup analysis, bias checks, and continuous monitoring in production-like settings.
• Apply statistical modelling and machine learning techniques to improve model quality, interpretability, and clinical usability.
• Contribute to the design of scalable data workflows and the algorithms’ infrastructure (reproducibility, versioning, experiment tracking, documentation).
• Participate in writing and reviewing scientific/technical documentation and, where relevant, manuscripts and research outputs.

What We’re Looking For (Must-Have)

• Strong experience with Python and/or R for statistical analysis and modelling.
• Proven experience working with clinical/healthcare datasets (or similarly complex real-world datasets), including data cleaning, feature engineering, and validation.
• Strong background in machine learning / data science and applied statistics.
• High attention to detail and ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For (Must-Have)

• Experience in mental health / behavioral health analytics (e.g., PHQ-9, GAD-7, PCL-5 or similar outcome measures).
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards, privacy-by-design, and working in regulated environments.
• Software development background (production mindset, testing, code quality).
• Data engineering skills (pipelines, orchestration, warehousing).
• Experience with collaboration and project tools (GitHub, Jira).
• Experience with big data tooling (Spark or similar).
• Scientific writing / research experience.

Why Join Taliaz

You’ll work at the intersection of clinical practice and AI, helping build algorithms that directly impact care delivery at scale. This role offers meaningful ownership, close collaboration with clinicians and leadership, and the chance to shape how mental healthcare is delivered through data and technology.
